Sacred Scotland Pilgrimage (13 Nights / 14 Days)
Each day of this pilgrimage is intentionally paced, balancing movement with stillness, learning with integration, and shared experience with personal reflection. The itinerary is designed to meet the land as it is, allowing space for weather, energy, and intuition to guide the finer details.
Theme: Threshold & Intention
Arrive in Edinburgh and settle into the rhythm of the journey. In the evening, we gather as a group for our opening circle—meeting one another and setting shared intentions.
We visit Rosslyn Chapel, a site rich with sacred geometry, symbolism, and mystery. Here, we mark the threshold of the pilgrimage, opening ourselves to the weeks ahead.
Theme: Ancient Memory
We travel west through Kilmartin Glen, one of Europe’s most significant prehistoric landscapes. Standing stones, cairns, and ritual sites stretch across the valley, offering a powerful introduction to Scotland’s ceremonial past. From Oban, we ferry to the Isle of Mull, crossing waters that have carried pilgrims for centuries.
Theme: Resonance & Devotion
By boat, we journey to the Isle of Staffa and enter Fingal’s Cave, allowing the natural acoustics to guide a sacred sound and listening experience. From there, we continue to the Isle of Iona—long regarded as the spiritual heart of Scotland. Time is given for reflection at Iona Abbey and along the island’s quiet shores.
Theme: Lineage & Passage
We visit Duart Castle, ancestral seat of Clan Maclean, perched above the sea. Stories of clan lineage and ancestral continuity anchor the morning. From Mull, we travel north toward the Isle of Skye, passing through ever-wilder landscapes as the land begins to shift in tone and texture.
Theme: Earth, Water, Air
Skye reveals itself through dramatic elemental contrasts. We explore the Fairy Pools and Fairy Glen, places long associated with myth, the unseen, and the elemental world. Time is given for quiet attunement—allowing the land to speak through sensation rather than story.
Theme: Crossing & Continuity
Crossing the Skye Bridge, we pause at Eilean Donan Castle, one of Scotland’s most iconic strongholds. Traveling through the Highlands, we trace ancient routes alongside lochs and glens, eventually arriving in Thurso—the gateway to Orkney.
Theme: Sacred Geometry & Stone
We ferry to the Orkney Islands and step into one of the most concentrated ceremonial landscapes in Europe. Visits include Skara Brae, the Ring of Brodgar, the Standing Stones of Stenness, and St. Magnus Cathedral—each revealing a sophisticated relationship between land, sky, and ritual.
Theme: Devotion Under Pressure
We explore the Italian Chapel, built by Italian prisoners of war as an act of beauty and devotion under hardship. Scapa Flow offers insight into Orkney’s wartime history, while the village of Stromness provides space for wandering, journaling, and quiet integration.
Theme: Death, Renewal & Alignment
Returning to the mainland, we visit Culloden Battlefield—a place of deep collective memory—and Clava Cairns, aligned with solar and lunar cycles. These sites invite reflection on endings, renewal, and the cyclical nature of life and lineage.
Theme: Mystery & the Unseen
Walking the shores of Loch Ness, we explore themes of myth, story, and the unseen forces that shape belief. Urquhart Castle provides a vantage point over the loch—offering space to contemplate how mystery functions as a teacher rather than something to be solved.
Theme: Sovereignty & Return
We visit Stirling Castle, once the seat of Scottish kings and queens, learning about coronation rituals and sovereignty. From there, we return to Edinburgh, closing the geographical arc of the pilgrimage.
Theme: Embodiment & Closure
A spacious day for integration. Explore Edinburgh Castle and the Royal Mile, or choose an optional hike to Arthur’s Seat for panoramic views. In the evening, we gather for a closing dinner—sharing reflections and honoring the journey we have walked together.
Theme: Continuation
Depart Scotland carrying the imprint of the land, the relationships formed, and the inner shifts that will continue to unfold long after the journey ends. This is not an ending, but a continuation.
